About Us

Elora’s Monster Month – Twilight Zoo, Monster March Parade, Elora FrightFest
In October, Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo display can be seen while wandering down the streets of Elora on
buildings and green spaces. There are approximately 60 pieces scattered throughout Elora, creating a
massive show that lights up at night. Tim Murton is the artist and mastermind behind the sculptures
made from tissue, cheesecloth, and wires. Every year individuals and businesses sponsor or rent one of
Murton’s pieces to help support local art and tourism throughout the Halloween season.

When planning your trip to Elora in October, we suggest attending the Monster March Parade. This
family-friendly parade brings the whole community together and gives children the opportunity to
partake in this special event. The Monster March is a non-motorized parade but very entertaining
regardless. So don’t be afraid to show up in your costume and join the fun! We promise no one is
looking.

For nearly two decades, Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo has been decorating the streets of Elora with a unique collection of lantern sculptures. During the month of October, visitors started coming to Elora from all over Southern Ontario to see the display. Local artists, community groups, businesses and other organizations started adding themed events as popularity grew, leading to the name “Monster Month in Elora.”
